Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Well just waiting for a bit of paint to dry then that's kit 30a just to be re-assembled.
That is just for lining out.
Seat is painted and ready for the cushion.
I am off for two weeks so not sure what to get up to. Need more to build.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Hi all.
Little bit of progress. Work is slow and gentle.
Now I will leave them for a week or so to harden before lining out.

Looking good. I assume the stars have been made on the new machine, they look great.
Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Yes they have. But! They need more cleaning up as the tooling was chattering and Steve could not stop it.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Paint appears hard enough so decided to do the lining out.
Now waiting for lining paint to start setting then I will remove the tapes to allow the edge of the paint to settle and not go ragged.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Ho ho ho.
Spent a couple hours in the engine shed today.
Got the motion covers mounted. Still to paint the backs but that will happen when that colour is next needed.
Now to think about cooking Christmas Dinner.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Yes she is.
Not a lot left to do on kit 30a. Got the oil pot for the water pump drive to polish and fit and the 2 holding straps for the sat pan to paint. I am going to bond cork to the underside of the seat pan and on the fitting straps. So he seat can be adjusted and held in place without scuffing the paint. Also going to line the inside of the channel over the top of the bunker to do the same. Possibly a small pad under the lugs on the tow hitch.

Just been looking at the weather records and forecast. I am glad Crystal is hibernating as there has not been a weekend of decent weather to steam since she had her first outing mid October. The next fee weeks are not going to let up much..

Not good news Lynn, although it will be worth the wait.
How's the temperature, is it back above freezing yet?

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Hi Lynn,
I had the same problem, but was able to drill out & carefully tap the "small" fitting to accept the extension tube then liquid PTFE'd it in position.
Regards,
Tony
