Gentle job today
Got round to painting Crystals governor and shock horror. I had to pickup a brush!
Since they are fiddily and quite delicate. No polishing going to be done on it!

Blimey Lynn, I didn't know you knew about "BRUSHES"
C'mon, you gotta admit, that paint finish is pretty good on your guv'na bits
Are you hoping to get your guvnor to work?
Regards,
Tony

Brush.....you sure it wasn't an air brush.
Looks great, I would struggle not to want to put it together again with the paint still wet. Sometimes I can be a bit impatient.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Not sure what I think about this.... Nicely painted but should it be painted?? Don't take offence just my opinion.
Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Hi Kev
No fence taken.
It's painted to protect it over the next year of non-use. A lot of governors are painted.

Hiya Lynn,
How much snow you having to clear over there in Inverness?
It' finally stopped snowing here, so I've cleared enough snow this morning to get off the drive way today
Regards,
Tony

Basically zip.
Fancied going for a drive but not with buggered rear brakes. In garage tomorrow as I am not fit to do myself at the moment.
But making a roof for Crystal in the nice warm kitchen would make a good alternative..

Diff is normally just the selector pivot. Adjustable spanner on the lever and wiggle.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Sorry peeps for not posting much lately. Health not good. But I have been working on bits and bobs.
Got my cargo track system for the trailer and hope to get that fitted in the next few ads with help from father. Once I start I will do pictures to show the solution.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
I say Lynn, that looks like good stuff!!
Is it an Ifor Williams extra?.......... Where did you find it?
Probably better than the fixings I'm using as it speads the load out over a larger area on the trailer floor!!

Tony

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Also got turnbuckles on order to use for screwing the engine down tight. 2 front out at 45deg forward and side wards off the tow hitch. Rears will be from each of the outer tow points to the track.
Tracks will be just outside the Engine wheelbase with the engine placed to the offside of the trailer. Leaving enough room for the wagons and water bowser on the left. Thinking of welding loops on the axials of the wagons and bowser to use as lashing points. Then make a small A frame for the bowser hitch to latch into on the headboard.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Turnbuckles have arrived.
Just need the rain to stop.
Then I can fit everything together and show how I have done it.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
Hi Tony
I am trying to dispense with the cats cradle of ratchet straps and the time taken to install them all. Where as drop the chain link in the tow hitches. Tighten turnbuckles and jobs agoodun!
Last years trips to and from castle Fraser cut/broke 4 ratchet straps as the tie down points on the trailer are not really conveniently placed. Also the sides interfere with the tied owns when in place and you don't want the straps over the top of the sides.

Re: Lynn Robinson. Showman Scenic
You'd probably get away with just using the central tow point on the rear, seems a shame to use the outers and risk scratching the paint.
