At last
Hi All
Springs arrived this evening
Now chemical blacked and fitted.
Hitch arrangement on the taller wheels.
Seat is tooo high for confortable use behind the roofed loco's
I think unless STW has a better idea my seat is going lower and slightly to the near side and a second seat on the off side.
SO water bowser basically finished. Just the bolts around the suspension to treat and tighten up and the bowser will be going behind the wagons.

Thoughts?
Having cogitated for 5 minutes.
When the traction wagons are built and the water bowser is still at the angle I think I will remove the seat frame and fabricate a swan neck for the tow hitch to get the chassis of the bowser level.

WHAT took so long?
Hi Craig
lol Kit did not arrive until 17:50 and I had to have dinner first
Just noticed a picture missing and a dupliate in last post.
Bit of a pain that we can not edit posts in this thread.

Re: Lynn Robinson 4" water bowser
yeah, thats actually a mistake in the settings. when you create a new forum section you have to go through and set all the "permissions". seems someone has not done that
i'll go have a look
EDIT: should be sorted now

Idle between kits and days off
Well since I am idle at the moment waiting for the next kit, just been informed tomorrow. I thought I would line out the water tank. Make it match the engine.

Well it is finished.
Water bowser now complete. Even got the wheels muddy before it was finished.
There must have been more than 3 carts sold in the last 6 months. Where is all the pictures??

Re: Lynn Robinson 4" water bowser
Not much happened with mine over the last few weeks. However now the paint has arrived can get it underway again and hopefully finished. Yours has come out really well though and matches the engine well. I need to visit ex-mayor to decide how best to line it out, but have a few ideas.
Re: Lynn Robinson 4" water bowser
Hey Lynn, what will you do when the engine is finished, rebuild the house?????
Roll on the release of the traction wagon, the clock will be ticking once you receive the first package
Any pics of the bowser conencted to the engine??

You hit a problem on the nail there. What will I do once the engine is finished.
Yes I will be getting a wagon. possibly 2 if they can stack for storage. Looking at the CAD's the wheel plan appears to allow it.
Forgot.. Will try and get some daylight engine and bowser this coming weekend.

stunning!
Well all I can say is WOW!
One q though... when you connect the bowser to the tender do you have some kind of nylon bushing? How do you stop the paint getting all scraped up? On my 3" I just accept it as a sacrificial area and it's basically metal on metal. How do STW/lynnr do it?

not changed. Still metal on metal. Will lube up when on the road next year. Also I am going to round off the hitch profile so it does not dig into the mating area.

Re: Lynn Robinson 4" water bowser
Lynn
Looking absolutely fantastic.
The profile view suggests the seat is very close to the top of the bunker extension on uneven ground I would be concerned about getting my bits trapped From the instructions with the tender STW suggest the seat for the DCC will probably mount on the tender. What are your plans with the water bowser seat?
Ian

I am going to have a wagon between the engine and bowser so most problibly the seat on the bowser will be cut off. I also find sitting on the seat does feel too high to work and stoke comfortably.
STW. You may want to give an option to have the bowser kit without the seat.

Re: Lynn Robinson 4" water bowser
Finally finished the painting of the water bowser. The spring hangers were not painted.
Reasonable shine. No polishing done at this stage. It is just the spray finish.
The finished artical.

Re: Lynn Robinson 4" water bowser
Looks really good Lynn.
Not sure about you but I have been wondering if the drain cock will be very practical out in the filed. I've been looking for an alternative 90 degree globe value but not yet found one the right size.

Re: Lynn Robinson 4" water bowser
Tap is not for use but just for emptying. The water litter hose in the top will be done for tender filling. I spent about five days looking for a tap and did not find one.
