Water pump yes or no
Hi all
Well soon I hope to put back my engine But I was thinking with the injector.
Is it worth fitting a water pump insted As it will not work to well on warm water.
Or making a by pass just in front of the injector.
What do you guys think??

Put the pump in the tank and no one will know, unless you tell them. Chris

Just remember you will need 2 totally independent means of getting water into the boiler to get a steam test certificate. Don't try and hide things out of the way

The idea to hide the pump was not to hide it from those who have to know about it. The suggestion to hide it was to stop the "Politically Correct Brigade" from tut tuting about having a pump. If you already have 2 systems for getting water into the boiler as per the regulations, then adding a pump would be 3 systems.

Water pumps (hand)
I have fitted a hand pump on mine which is T'd into the waterpump outlet (took the elbow off and fitted a T piece) the pump is mounted in the tender on the tender water cover plate so that I can easily remove it if neccesary.
When I did my steam test, a nut leaked in the injector pipe rendering the injector U/s until it was sorted, but luckily I still had the hand pump as the second method of getting water into the boiler and passed the test. (the injector pipe nut has since been replaced)

Did you put a non return valve between the pump and T piece?
Pictures would be good

Re: Water pump yes or no
Hi guys
Sorry but been off line at the mo .I have put the pump in the back of the tender.
The pipe is going out the r/h side and will fit to the pipe that gose up at the angle .
With non return valve on it as well .But the only snag at the mo is still in bits .
I will be down there in the morning and I hope all day.
