Piston Stroke Empty Piston Stroke

Post  Thunderbolt Fri 29 Oct 2021, 6:34 pm

Hi All,

Please can I have the length of the Piston Stroke of the 4” scale DCC Burrell Road Loco?

Second question is: My high pressure piston is binding up near what i think is the end of the stroke when i fit the top slide bar and also with the brass gland fitted however when i remove the slide bar the glad and the gland packing you can move it to what i think is the end of the stroke however it is then no longer parallel and moves right by about 0.19mm. It is not a problem being caused by the slide bar rather i reckon some miss alignment in the cylinder block. What could be causing this problem and what can solve it?

Many Thanks

Thunderbolt

Lots of patience and careful shimming I would suggest! Sorry there is no other simple answer to my knowledge or experience....unless someone else knows better!
