Trouble with ashpan
Afternoon all, I'm hoping one of you can help me. I put a fire in my engine for the first time on Thursday. The back end of the ashpan hangs down, away fron the fire box. The two pins holds the front close and tight to fire box, but the back hangs down and not giving a nice seal against the firebox.
Has anyone had this problem too and how did you solve it.
Any help would be greatly received.

Re: Trouble with ashpan
I had the same problem with the 4" version many years ago and a third pin fitted towards the back end solved the problem. They have since then supplied a strap that swings forward to support the back of the ashpan on the 4" agricultural. The ashpan needs to be a tightish fit otherwise the damper will have little effect.

Re: Trouble with ashpan
Hi Steve, I was thinking along the same lines as you. Putting a third pin in. How far back did you put your pin? I was thinking, just in front of the gear guard on flywheel side of engine. You need access to pin to be able to drop ashpan. I know on the 4" they have a strap on the back of firebox to support the ashpan.
I can't understand wht they don't have similar on the 2"
