6" Foden Out and About
Hi All,
We took the Foden on the Bedford Road Run over the weekend and had a great time with it, no problems at all!
We managed to do a total of 23 miles and that was one of the longest routes. We worked out that we drove around 20 miles on both tanks of water and we would expect to do 15 miles safely before refilling, along with that we used about three quarters of a bag of coal so its a very efficient engine and held its steam very well, making steam going up hills with the injector on!
Here is a photo of it in front of the house at Bedford Rally with thanks to Clive R. Flack for the photo.
And here is another of us full flight during the road run

Re: 6" Foden Out and About
I saw it outside the beer tent one afternoon and it was ticking over very quietlytoo, not to far from Blackbeard incidentaly with his new owner. Jamie has done a good job putting this together, I know how important the fitting is on the motion and everything else. Lovely wagon, well done.

Re: 6" Foden Out and About
It wasn't just me Brian,
Charley done a tremendous amount of fitting to get the engine to run as well as it does.i was there for alot of technical and setup and taught Charley some skills for setting up engines and motion such as bearing fits and setting up motion. It is really lovely to hear the kind and positive comments about all of the workmanship that has gone into the engine so thank you We can hopefully come out with it next year finished
Regards Jamie
