Brake lining question Empty Brake lining question

Post  phil gomez Sun 02 Aug 2015, 9:32 am

Just been looking at the brake lining and wondering what is the best way of bending it to fit the brake band without breaking it.
Question -
Will it bend  easily (it was making cracking  noises when I was trying) don't want to break it.

What glue would you  recommend using for gluing the break lining in?

Thanks.

Phil.

It may have some kind of dressing on it Phil try working it with your fingers at one end and see if it will soften a bit. I don't remember a problem bending mine. I fixed mine with brass countersink bolts, about 6ba I think. Mind you the brake is a bit notional as the engine will carry on quite happily with the wheel sliding, especially on grass.
