Excellent news, are you the guy I spoke to at length at Dorset who was building his own from castings but changed as it is likely to be quicker this way?

Welcome aboard, great to see another lovely engine coming to life. I considered Dolphin myself, but as I remembered Ex-Mayor from back when I was a young lad went with that.
Looking forward to seeing your progress over the next few years.

I believe it is as I also spoke to him at Dorset and previously at Banbury, Steve is his name. I hope he has as many polishers as Mike has if he makes it look half as good as Dolphin.
Look forward to seeing your progress on here soon Steve, I know your very motivated right now - don't let the regulator thread get you down!!!

Hi everyone yes it's me Steve thanks for welcoming me to the forum, have enjoyed following everybody's build stories, already some great looking models finished and still currently under construction.
Don't worry Brian i won't be put off by the regulator problems. Whilst at steam traction world yesterday Steve said the problem will have been sorted by the time i get to that stage, Steve said their looking at the stainless steel plate modification.
Hope you all get your problems sorted soon.

Good progress been made over the last couple of weeks, front wheels now built just awaiting spraying, tender built and in primer. Dummy rivets and firebox stays all fitted to horn plates, Hornplates and front and rear spectacle plates in primer.
I'm on leave for the next three weeks so hope to get the front axle and perch bracket painted. I also hope to have the belly tank constructed by the end of this week, then I will be in the garage spraying all the other items as well.
Hopefully will have ago at posting some pictures this week of the progress so far.

Hi everyone,
Went over to stw yesterday and collected the next kit which is kit 4 left hand rear wheel. Sorry i haven't posted any photo's of my progress as yet still having problems. I have also been tied up with applying for another freight train driving job with another company.
Due to the cold weather and then the wet and milder weather conditions, have brought my assemblies in doors. At present i am as follows with my build:- Front wheels built and in primer, Tender built and in primer tank sealed with por15, Belly tank built and in primer as well as sealed with por15, Front axle and perch assembled and in primer, and Hornplates and spectacle primed and in undercoat, really pleased with the progress made so far.
Regards
Steve.

"MERLIN" 4" Scale Burrell Scenic Showmans Engine
Good evening everyone,
Sorry i haven't posted on my actual build for quite sometime now, but been very busy as of late having moved house from Peterborough, to Aylesbury to be nearer family.
Today on my way home from a very long night shift i called into Steam Traction World, to collect my boiler, but once again items missing from the kit.
I appreciate that delays can occur with suppliers, but this is the third kit in succession that i have collected and been incomplete due to missing items. And when i enquired about the outstanding items, apparently they are still awaiting delivery from China.
What happened to good old English Engineering?.
Hopefully if i can resolve my problem with the local council over the erection of my new workshop, hopefully i can complete the building then get back to building my engine.
