General production up-date OCTOBER 2013
Just a quick look at some of the parts in production at the moment.
the good news is that the foden 6inch cylinder block is getting close. we now have it mounted on the 4th axis and this should allow us to drill all the angled holes at the same time, saving a huge amount of time...
also been working on the 4inch burrell valve motion kit...
and a load of 6inch foden parts...
now starting work on the first kit of the new Showmans batch, the front wheels.
hubs and covers on the lathe...

4.5 foden cylinder blocks will be on as soon as the 6inch ones are done. and they wont take as long as the jigs and programs are all done from before

Hi Craig, thanks for posting the update and the pictures, seeing all the other 6" Foden parts in your photo's - does that mean we will be getting 2 kits this month to make up for not getting anything last month?

Re: General production up-date OCTOBER 2013
Jamie,
The first kit for this engine is not due out until November so all materials have been ordered and have either been delivered or are awaiting the supplier to deliver them (including 20,000 rivet bolts!).
The odd part has been made in the last week or is in production currently (rivet nuts & oilers).
The exception to this is the front wheels that customers chose the option of having them vulcanised. These were manufactured earlier in the month and sent away for rubber bonding as the lead time on this can be a few weeks.
If Craig gets chance i'll ask him to add a couple of photo's later of what has already been done and also open up a SCC group page dedicated to that engine.
Regards
Dean
