Pics!!
Hi Mike,
Brilliant to see another photo thread starting, even though some of us are "ahead" of you, it's good to see how other people do stuff!!
The "excitment" of the first kit, you'll find, is repeated for every kit you receive!! I can't wait for my next one!!! I've become an "addict" !!!
STW take note.......... I NEED MY NEXT FIX!!!
Regards,
Tony

Hi Mike
Looking good. Wonderful to see another engine in the embrio stage. A collection of bits turning into a fantastic engine.
Keep it coming.

Re: mikes road loco
Looking good Mike.
Like the agri-tractor but one question. Where does the coal go? or does it run on battery?

Tender moments
Looking good Mike.
Just as a reminder before more paint is applied. Are you doing a dip stick on the tender?

Re: mikes road loco
You might call this a deluxe version, this is one I made on my lathe. The large brass part sits behind the 2 pipe holes (you have to drill a new hole) I then made a top which has a thread cut into it so you can screw the dipstick in when the loco is on the trailer. Obviously I will need a decent size cork to go on the end of the pole (not yet attached) I knurled the top section to assist oily hands

Re: mikes road loco
Hi Mike
Sorry but I have not done one yet. I am actually possibly going against prototype and actually have a "gauge glass" Couple of elbows with a sight glass on the back nearside(Flyweel) of the belly tank. Once that is empty time to find water as when the belly tank is empty the tender has about 1/3 left. I will always be pulling my water bowser if away from the home QTH to top up the tanks between water stops.

Re: mikes road loco
My thought as an alternative idea was as the tender taps dont work take out the top and bottom and make that into a sight glass possibly with acrylic to reduce risk of fracture then you can see just what you have in water. Cant find an elbow that is tapped at 5/16 x 32 me though yet.
SIGHT GLASS
Hi Guys
The Foden SWB has an acrylic sight glass on the centre inboard tank as provided by STW. Not sure what the threads are but it may be worth asking.

Re: mikes road loco
Mike,
Nice job Mike, looking at these photos of all these engines I think I will need to get the brush out and spend the next few weeks touching up etc.
