Rear wheel rivets Empty Rear wheel rivets

I am trying to smooth of the rear of the rivets on the rear wheel. However the inner ones are very tricky to get to - any tips?

Can't get the grinder in, or the dremmel (at the right angle)

Or have people left them rough

Cheers
Simon

I used a flexy drive attached to a mini drill with a small grind wheel. The flexy drive is only about pencil size at the business end which does get in. Ryobi is the brand I used.

Alternatively dont bother... you cant see them on the inside especially when the wheels in place on the engine. Only my opinion but more trouble than its worth.

Yep I also used the demel with the flexi drive. Best investment I think I made so far, and saved me lots of time.

Part of me said not too bother - however I have commissioned a professional traction engine painter to paint them and he makes such a good job you feel you want to give him the best to work with.

Have ordered the flexi shaft to go with my dremel which is a really useful peice of kit - was using it last night to tidy up the curves at the base of the spokes on the second rear wheel and it does save a lot of time.
