Re: filling up?
Hi Terry
Yes. I use a short length of clear pipe that i got from the garden centre (fish tank sales) and adapted it to connect to the garden hose.
When filling, open the blowdown valve fully along with the blower, injector and water lifter steam valves to let the air out as it fills.
Have fun and happy steaming.

Re: filling up?
For filling up when I'm out I got an electric windscreen washer kit such as this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363529629708?hash=item54a40df00c:g:OV8AAOSw629hMd-8 (Plenty of similar ones on ebay). I got the idea from one of the loco owners at my ME club. The tube supplied is a perfect fit for the blowdown valve. Didn't bother with the switch. Just put connectors onto the wires for the battery I use for the blower. Takes 2 fills of the bottle to fill the boiler but can easily fil the boiler in a couple of minutes.
