Trying to pull out a straight pin is very difficult, which is why most are angled...So "angled"!! Very Happy

Tony

You need the tow pins so you can be stuck on a push pole like Tom and recovered as when you ran out of steam at Dundee Twisted Evil

Angled. I got told by an engine driver of working days " you don't 'ave a straight handle on a pin boy ever! If that bloke in the cab pulls a lever the wrongen and tou've got your 'and round that it will pin your 'and intween that and the back of the tender. That andle is there so your 'and aint in the way" Wise words after seeing it happen at a show a few years ago and the blokes hand got crushed.
