tender inspection cover
Quick question - Can't make up my mind what to do with the tender inspection cover, paint all over or isoflex one one side, paint on the other? What have others done?

Ive painted one side and POR the other, will then make up a gasket to seal it.

Re: tender inspection cover
Sounds sensible. I might even try instant gasket and a layer of Vaseline. Never had to inspect my current tender.... Mind you it is brass!

Tender cover
On my engine I just painted both sides of the cover and use a smear of grease to form a seal. It doesn't leak & neither has it gone rusty. When laying up the engine for the winter I drain it right down, sponge out the dregs and check the Isoflex to ensure there's no rust anywhere. I also check the filters on the pick up pipes to make sure they are clean. I replaced the brass bolts for stainless steel ones as brass doesn't age very well when in contact with water & I didn't want any heads shearing off.
