Re: windermere kettle
We are considering doing one for the 4" engines. Want us to consider extending that to the 2" engines also?

Windemere kettle
Tims windemere kettle is much overused! I can see them selling like hot cakes if a nice one was made to sit on the walk board (with a fitting kit). Tims one makes a piping hot cup of tea in seconds. Probably the most useful piece of kit one could put on an engine!

Re: windermere kettle
I am up for a 4" scale one as well, particularly with a nicely sorted mounting kit and valves etc. (something else to polish!)
With best wishes

RE Windermere Kettle
Hi STW,
I would be interested in a 4" Windermere kettle as well (You could even throw in some STW mugs)

I've been looking for one for a couple of years so add me to the list (As long as we dont have to build too much of it )
Re: windermere kettle
We went to Windermere in 2008 but did not see any kettles for sale. Can someone show us a picture of one, please.

Re: windermere kettle
Take a look at:
http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/showthread.php?t=14238&highlight=Windermere+kettle
If I were making it again there would be differences in the plumbing arrangements within the kettle, making it easier to manufacture.

Add me to the 4" scale list too, nothing that says a road loco can't have one!!
Looks like I will now need a third traction wagon to carry all the tea, sugar and milk

Order #10
By my count that is 10 orders now. If you are after one increment the number in the title. Saves Dean or Steve having to count.

Is it just me, or is it ironic that this thread is in 'letting off steam'
Count me in for one

windermere Kettles
These items might be construed as anti social, cos I can see people brewing up solo as opposed to gathering in huffing puffing groups (don't know what a gaggle of traction engines and gaffers are collectively called)around the nearest van with a brew on !!!!

Re: windermere kettle
Not the group I am hang about with, it normally comes out of a can .
Seriously, I can only see it gathering in social engagement, as people can have a brew, without going to the back of the van, or opening the flask.
All the best,
Brian

I think I would probably put a large Keg sized can in the Traction Trailer, then we will see how much social gathering that promotes
With all the cooking going on in smokeboxes following Tim's guide we could even be mistaken for hanging around in the "kitchen".

Re: windermere kettle
The belly tank was a nightmare so has taken longer than I planned. Hopefully, Clive and James will be down next weekend and help attach the boiler on Dwain's engine (I still need to ask them) and then mine shortly after, so still hopefully of a rolling engine by October the first.
What are your plans?
Cheers,
Brian

Re: windermere kettle
I plan to go on the Saturday all being well, it is Lee and Sue's wedding day (Fowler roller - Navigator).
Do you mean James Tilbury who was on the Cheshire Rally road run with Lee's Foster? He was going to sleep in our awning for a night at Dorset but his grandad passed away so he did not go.
When ARE you going to post a picture on here??
