Re: boilers pass inspection !!!
Hold on there Colin.... some of us have been speaking very nicely to Isobel to see what the arrangements are.... so I'm first!!!!!
Looks like its gonna be a bit of a rush to see who gets a boiler and rolling chassis together first!!
Hopefully I will see you guys at STW towers on Thursday which is when I have managed to blag a day off to come up to you. Hopefully that allows enough time to get all the bits done that you need to for the kit. I will have a cheque by the way.

Hi Kev,
No competition between us, I want a proper boiler for a Showmans Engine not a cut down version for a Road Loco

Looking at the size of these things and how heavy the other stuff is so far this is when I'm glad I went for the little one!!!!
Any one else looking to go up this week??

Re: boilers pass inspection !!!
This sounds good news, I won't need mine for ages, as I am still building my 2nd rear wheel and I have not started the fronts yet. I heard the showmans new weight is just over a ton, has this changed with the boiler being finished? LONG LIVE THE SHOWMAN

Dare I say it? the Showmans is just a Chavmobile with all those fairy lights Thats why the boiler is bigger, to waist all that steam to busy polishing it to use it!!! Up the Roadloco gang!

Re: boilers pass inspection !!!
Thought I had better come to the defence of the Showman builders.
While the beer glasses may be on our roofs at least we wont be wasting drinking time looking for the nearest hostelry.
Or stuck in traffic.

Passed inspection
Hi STW
So the first batch is a go! from the messages flying about the forum. There is a lot of hungry builders.
So to ask a slightly different question. When is batch 2 going to be ready as I am one of these late starters, although by my count I am now only 1 kit behind instead of 7 :-)....
Reason for asking is I am passing, well sort of, middle England at the start of July coming back from Dorset so it would be nice to be able to collect my boiler at that time. If it is ready well before then well I would most certainly do a round robin trip just to collect it as I guess a jiffy bag and a first class stamp will not do.
Or
Is delivery by courier still an option?

Re: boilers pass inspection !!!
yeah, the vultures have been circling over the factory
the next batch "should" be done within a month, but i say that with caution as we have the cylinders to machine and other "stuff" coming up.
if they are not done by July i expect someone will be getting the sack
sorry, not a clue about the courier option, you'd have to speak to dean on that.

Re: boilers pass inspection !!!
I have got to respond it's a must..... Roadloco gang sounds to much like Chain Gang to me and you know what I mean....black and white strip engines coming up I think.
Also we all know women like a GOOD SHOWMAN...2-0 to us showman builders I think
PS Craig I bet you wish you had not mentioned the boilers now

well i think your all being a bit lazy really. if you were real men/women you would have gone for the pedal power option

Peddle power
Hum. Would that then be a cut price likamobile for sale at 50% so it becomes a steam cycle?
