Kit 8 travel to the Far North
Hi All
Bummer!!!
Next kit has not arrived, should have been here before Christmas eve. BUT unfortunately the main and practically speaking the only road to Inverness from down south was closed on the 23rd due to a 3 truck smash. The road was closed for 14 hours in total.
I may even have more bad luck as the truck with my next kit may have been one of the casualties.

Kit 8 to the north
Hi Lynn,
My kit only arrived yesterday, so hopefully you'll get yours today, always assuming they were travelling north together!!
Previous experiance indicates my parcels travel via Inverness to Elgin, then local carrier trundles round here twice a week, weather permitting!! He a smashing bloke, never complains about the weight of the boxes!!
Kind regards
Tony

As you say, "bummer"!!
Nothing worse than twidling thumbs in "holiday time" when you could be "locking horns" with what possibly could have been the best Christmas present for 2010!!

Re: Kit 8 travel to the Far North
mmm sorry about this guys but im not sure there is anything we could have done under the circumstances.
with the weather and xmas, it would seem that the postal service has a bit of a back-log to catch up on, with the north of the country being the worst affected.
we would have liked to get things out earlier but December is always a difficult month when we loose a weeks production.
im sure the kit will arrive soon.
on a lighter note, the castings for the next kit arrived on xmas eve. we have literally checked and signed for them and then left them till new year... but at least they are safe at STW

What? did it snow or something
Hi All
The weather was not all that bad up here in Inverness. Yes we had about 10" of snow but I got to work every day by car, well landrover. The main trunk road to inverness was only shut 1 day due to the snow and 1 day due to the truck crash. Think the parcel people are just using it as an excuse to have an easy time between the holidays.
Well. It does not matter as life will go on and I know STW can not do anything more than their 100% which is not where the delay was caused.
Happy New Year to you all

Whats happening to the world
Had a chat with STW and the parcel is apparently being held at Inverness. Waiting for the delivery company to call and explain or better still deliver!

Kit 8 to the north
Hiya Lynn,
I can totally understand your "EXSARPERATION" at the non delivery of your kit of tender fittings!! If I can get a delivery where I live, then there can't possibly be a reason or "excuse" for delay nearer to "civilisation" where you are!!
Two weeks to deliver a a two day parcel, is definately out of order!!
Changing the subject & moving on to "the Boiler Kit", STW in the past have expected customers to collect these as they are bloody heavy & even the most enthusiastic carrier would "bulk" at having a couple of these in their van!! So may try to contact you direct to maybe share costs or something!
Hope your Kit 8 is with you for weekend

That would be a good idea. Can't do March as work colleague is on Holiday so can not get away from office.
I have a freelander so if the boilers are not too long they should fit easily. Also have fitted tie down rings to make things safe and secure.
