the boilers linked in series for testing...



and after testing, being drained of the water...



and the next ones are already well under way, with all the subassemblies and plates done...

just wanted to say... as some of you are getting close to putting your rolling chassis together its time for a warning.

as you know, just about all the parts you have already are very heavy. and the boilers are really heavy. please be careful when putting all this together at STW we have a large engine hoist to do all the lifting and we have at least two people working to get all the sections together.

the front Axel/smoke box/ front wheel section is able to twist in any number of directions and needs to be handled with care.

if you dont have an engine hoist i would recommend at least three strong helpers when putting it all together.

im not sure what the official STW instructions will say but this is just a personal warning from me. take care

Already got the engine hoist, nearly gave myself a hernia just turning the front end assembly over on the bench - and that's without the axle.

Are all the boilers for the showmans engine or is there a mixture?

if you look close they are marked up S and RL in white paint.

been working on the boiler accessory kit this week.

got all the horn-plate alignment tools done...





and now working on the fire-doors...

Picked up showmans boiler, nice to see everyone at STW i was told the boiler is 140kg. Two of us struggled to get it out of the van by sliding down ramps so be careful if you put it in the boot you will need lifting gear to get it out.

I should have asked last week but where is everyone in the boiler priority list? Does everyone know when theirs will be available?

Steve, can you let me know where I am in the list (which batch) and when I should expect it to be ready for collection - factory move aside??
