FODEN KIT 2 AND 3

currently working on kits 2 and 3 of the foden.

these kits will be going out very soon but we are waiting on a material delivery before we can give a final date.

just a few parts to show you...

front stub axles...

and Axel box clamps (LH one still needs the lugs machining)...

kit two will be ready to go on Monday, we are just waiting for some more front Axel assemblies to be welded.

kit three is being delayed due to the delivery of spring steel being late, we will get this out as soon as possible.

you can see kit two already being packed, kit three is on the bench in the background...





the boiler cradle is being delayed by shipping, it literally is on a slow boat from china

kit 2 has now been sent out. you can see the kit fitted to our control model. please note, the hubs are not included in the kit, these are proto-type hubs fitted to check for clearance





the spring steel is now in for kit 3. the first set of springs has been cut and fitted to the control model and the rest of the batch is being made. we need to send these out for heat treating and hopefully we will get this kit out early next week.



your models should soon be looking like this, we just need to get those cradles

kit 3 should be going out early next week, as you can see it's all packed and just waiting for the spring sets...





the spring sets were sent for heat treating Friday morning, hopefully dean will give us an idea as to when he's collecting them...



the good news for kits 4 and 5 is that most of the stuff is in stock (the old modelworks stock that STW bought) with just a few bought in items to get and a handful of parts to make (arctic and SWB specific parts). so these kits look like an easy task for march

What's the latest on the slow boat from deepest darkest China carrying boiler cradles from your last post kits 4 & 5 should be ready this month is that still on the cards

still no word on a delivery date for the cradles, sorry

we are working on kit 4 now, only a few parts to make, and kit 5 needs a few bought in parts so yes, they should be ready soon. i'll post more news/photos when i know for sure.
