Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
Loving the Mini's, I'm a big Mini fan and re-built two when I was in my teens.. (not too long ago!) both fetured in Mini Magazine also.. I miss them but I dont miss the ever long battle against rust! but they are such easy cars to mess about with... Miller looks like a new rear subframe your fitting there! So how many bolts came out with a piece of the chassis still attached to them? or how many just broke off! that was forever happening with mine... all part of the fun tho eh..
I'm not too sure about the new mini's tho I think they a bit horrible

yes, rear subframe and some welding on the boot floor.
no broken subframe bolts in all the ones i've done over the years, it's all about how you do it (or maybe i was lucky). you need to start getting the WD40 in place long before it's time to start work and then wind them out real slow.
rust is the main problem, but i do love my minis. i can and have driven them all day. sadly none to play with at the moment. working on my second passion... cycling

Ahhh Minis what a great little car, only had one because I took the Ford Escort route when I started out driving all those years ago.I had a few over the years which included a Mk1 1300 Sport,a Mk1 1300 E,a Mk1 Mexico, and a Mk2 1600 Sport. If I'd only hung on to the Mk1 Mex!
All I have stashed away now is a 1978 Honda 400/4 F2 which is in need of a full restoration,a little project to get my teeth into when the time is right.

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
I owned a LADA and it even had a colour coded rear spoiler with a brake light
Lets see if any of yaz got the nuts to go lower than that
I remember a mate of me ex had a mini n it seized up so I was towing it usin me ole escort van, I forgot I was towing him at one stage n passed a class one on a biiiiiiiiiiig sweeping blind bend (young n stoooopid days) with another class one headin towards me, poor bugger in the mini didn't have any problem going for number 2's for some considerable time afterwards
Hope you're all doing well, sorry I've been quiet for the last little while, all work n no play makes LilyJack a dull boy etc etc, that n the ole lady decided she wanted a driveway putting in with gates n god knows what n christmas coming up n all, why the hell do women do this to us?? Is it to make us prematurely senile so they can claim on the life insurance??
Well, I've got to get cracking on with me chuff chuff now, I'm a bit behind on me build, but hopefully got some time off over xmas to play catch up (staying sober being the key), am booked in for the Earls Barton Rally b/h August..
Take care you lot and catch you all again sometime soon..

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
I knew that I had seen that picture before, it was in the mini world mag nearly every month.
The flame mini was the car I learn't to drive in 15 years ago, all the paint and metal work is original. All the extras are bolted on and I have all the original items in the loft in case I wanted to return it back to factory spec. The car is now only used in the summer, as I decided to buy a mini that doesn't rust (The BMW) for the winter months. The pickup is just great fun and always gets a good reaction off people at the shows or even just on the road. But as even the BMW mini has no boot space I have built a trailer to carry the traction engine and all the gear, plus it makes up for a good camping trailer when at the mini events.
