So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
Hi All,
After the recent comment from one of our customers stating he has no room for a lathe or mill in his garage because it is full with his PORSCHE. It raises the question.......................
What have you all got in your Garage/Sheds????

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
I'll start.
My garage is full to the brim. Between the kids bikes and my fishing kit i have probably enough stock of Nuts, Ferrules, Globe Valves, Lubricators etc to keep SteamFittings in business for the next 10 years, with enough Steam Raising Blowers (about 10,000 at the last count) to last not only my life time but my kids kids kids kids lifetime.
Additional to this i have half a dozen dead mice (thanks Hazel), a fridge and a tumble drier.
Fortunately i have private storage for my Aston Martin, Steam Car and Harley.

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
I do hate nosey kids, but as you asked so nicely car wise I have a Westfield SEI with a highly tuned Vauxhall 2ltr 16v race engine, which is available for sale if anyone’s interested, I also have a Dodge Viper SRT10 with the 8.3ltr V10 this only has just over 2k miles and surprisingly is for sale.
The Dodge comes with a supply of re-enforced underpants so TonyT should be Ok, only people with lots of folding stuff need apply.
Any questions I can answer, I built the Westfield have all the bills and photos, I also purchased the Viper new in 2004 I have some other "toys" Dean has seen the supercharged one and yes Dean it's for sale as I will be ordering a new one very soon so start counting your pennies.

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
Other than tools, tooling and all that goes with tooling etc, I believe I have the ultimate workshop components and have listed in priority as follows:
1: Kettle with tea coffee sugar powdered crap called milk n a mug.
2: Radio/ipod set up.
3: Comfy chair.
4: Numerous full beer cans dotted about the place.
5: Numerous empty beer cans dotted about the place.
6: The obligatory boob calendar that's 1997 I think but damn December does look nice
7: Good ole fashioned heater.
8: Ash tray ( I DO NOT use my floor or workbench as an ashtray )
9: Supply of roll-ups (n i don't mean me missus's nylons HONEST)
As any red blooded male can see, this is what we engineers call HEAVEN!!! No more and no less!!!
Hope you're all well

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
Hmmm Vapor nice choice with Viper, I sold a 74 Trans Am which I had owned man and boy and worked on extensively to fund the 4" Burrell. Since then the Burrell obviously lives in the garage along with 5 Pinball tables which I have discovered is another amusing hobby in which the tables themselves dont loose any money when being bought and sold. I have had a total of 13 tables so far buying and selling each one for what I paid for them and making a few quid on some when they need restoration. There is also a pot belly stove and a radio. I am considering a bed since letting the wife know I had signed up for the DCC road loco.
I forgot to add I have also taken up making Marble roller coasters having seen a website of a guy who makes them at an enormous cost inspiring me to have a go myself. I have set up a website and have actually sold one as a commisioned piece following a demonstration of my work at a rally Have a look at www.marbleruns.co.uk
In between all this I also play with the two kids and the wife when shes friendly and sometimes even manage to go to work
Kev.

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
As it was me that started this off with my comment here's some pictures.
The Porsche Turbo. X50 pack. 997 wheels and suspension, sports switchable exhaust. full re-map and induction kit. 580 BHP and eats anything on the road for breakfast..
Pictures taken up Arthers seat in Edinburgh.
wow this view in the middle of Edinburgh what a lovely place to live..
The Caterham Seven. 1.6 K-series. factory built car.
Pictures taken at my Local M,E,S Track. A nice 7 1/4 south african Loco in the background (thats not mine) Dean I believe you know Richard the owner of these Loco's!
Nissan Skyline GTR R32..for racing at knockhill.
59 Audi TT as my run around.
Lilla Locomotive. Juliet Locomotive. 1" Minnie Traction engine. lots and lots and lots of car parts, Mini Moto and a snowboard..
So ye my garage is pretty full..no room for lathe's and mills.. my dining room is my workshop were the burrell is being built! I'm considering setting it up with machinary..

Re: So What's In Your Garage/Shed????
My shed contains a collection of scratch built, model boats, some completed and others 'ongoing projects', a well used pillar drill, a growing collection of jam-jars containing nuts, bolts, washers other 'useful one day' bits, a couple of push bikes and this:
My 1946, 'Model 18' Norton that I still race in hill climbs and sprints!

What's in my shed
I'm just relaxing in my daughter's apartment on holiday in New Jersey, not far from the Big Apple, so I have time to join this jolly discussion about junk in ones shed/garage. Well how's this for a conversation stopper! In my garage, apart from the 4inch Burrell parts waiting for assembly, I have the tuning coils and oscillator from a 1938 Marconi 'SWB8' shortwave radio transmitter. Another of my pastimes is amateur historian of Marconi Radio Stations and along with a large number of photographs that I have been given I also get some of the hardware. All totally useless unless a museum is interested but none the less a small part of 20th century radio history. Perhaps I'll dig out a photo sometime. Anyway there you are, it's interesting that a love of steam brings us all together! ...........cheers Paul

yeah, the green one was an ongoing project. it wasn't actually that bad to be honest. it had very low millage and was a complete and original car, quite a rare thing for a classic mini.
the photo above was taken for a magazine feature, they were running stories on peoples projects
exact same spec as my red one only it featured the optional extras
