Lykamobile Series 2 Leaf Spring Assembly - Kit 6
Hi Builders,
Please find below a link to how to assemble the Lykamobile leaf springs. Although this will be provided in the written instructions provided it was felt a video would make it a lot easier to understand.
Although this is theoretically Kit 6 we will be in the position to despatch this as 'shipment 4' as early as next week (Kit 3, the diff is being despatched this Thusday) as everything is now ready other than it being packed.
All the best
Dean

Grease Spring Leaves?
Do you recommend to lightly grease in between each spring leaf before assembly to prevent rust and any "squeaks"?

Thanks for the video
As the springs are due to arrive today, this is a timely reminder. A video can be so much more instructive than words.

Re: Lykamobile Series 2 Leaf Spring Assembly - Kit 6
I'm planning to use uhmw polyethylene tape between the leaf springs. You can get this as a self adhesive tape in various thicknesses and widths and it does come in black, but mostly natural light white color. I'm thinking around 0.010 to 0.015 inch thick applied to both surfaces. My question is how wide are the springs? I think they are 1 1/2 inches wide. If someone could confirm this that would be great. I have not received any kits yet, chose to batch them to save in overseas shipment expense. My first shipment of kits is now being prepared and I want to get prepared with as much as I can.
By the way, there are many antique auto restorers that have many opinions on how best to lubricate the springs. Some use a graphite spray or other moly type sprays or coatings. I've used teflon tape before, uhmw-pe I think is now the choice.
