I have just trial fitted the bosses to the Inner Cover using the M6 csk screws and have noticed that the bosses are loose in the cover even though the screws are tight.

Am I correct to think that these should be tight against the Inner Cover and therefore the csk screws need shortening?

Also should the bosses be painted or left as bare metal?
