I am currently building a 2" Burrel Agricultural, and have been looking for a suitable reasonably priced spray gun/airbrush to use.
I am using Craftmaster Model range paint
Not sure what type would be better Siphon feed or Gravity feed ?. Whats the advantages and disadvantages?.
Have been looking at the Badger model 100 , but would welcome any recomendations
Hope everyone has had a good Christmas, so far.

Hi Steve,

I thought others might jump in!

I bought the starter kit from RDG Tools :-

http://www.rdgtools.co.uk/acatalog/AIRBRUSH_KITS_AND_SPARES.html

The airbrush is fine, but I have upgraded to the Iwata neo Siphon fed which is a lot nicer to use.

Happy to speak on the phone if you pm a number.

With best wishes
Simon

What you need to think about is what is the maximum amount of paint you are going to spray in one go and the get a spray gun with a pot of that capacity. If you have to keep refilling the gun inconsistencies of mixture creep in, if it is too big you can get a lot of mixed paint being thrown away. I used a 'touch-up' spray gun recommended by someone on the forum, in fact I have two one for black and the other for crimson. Saves a lot of cleaning. They are Bergen ATO16s from Ebay just type in "tough up spray gun" and there is a whole range of them to choose from. A supply of plastic yogurt pots are handy for mixing especially if you can find one with lines or letters on it that give you the correct paint/thinners mix.
