Looking great thanks for posting Craig! Do we know what pressure the SCC boilers will be running at yet?

Re: october production photos...
The design pressure for the SCC is 200 psi so the working pressure is 180 psi. Should give it a 'sprightly' performance.

Hi Craig
Thank you for posting your pictures.
I'm not building one of your engines yet but hopefully soon?
I do enjoy seeing what being built at the moment (love the engineering that gos into them).
Please keep them coming.
Thanks.
Phil.
Forgot to say.
what a lovely sight, a line of boilers.
Imagine a line of Burrell or Fawler boilers what a sight that would be (never to be seen again) except at STW.

Re: october production photos...
this weeks photos...
the main "item" this week has been the 6inch foden rear wheels....
finishing off the stuff from last week, the ash pans have been formed...
and 100's of grate bars machined...
boiler cladding has been cut...
and the last part of the boilers, the fire door mounting plates, machined...
showmans flywheels having a final skim...
work started on check valve bodies...
and these are soon to become 2inch burrell cylinder blocks. yes we do cut these from solid !!!

Hey Craig, make sure you follow up with some pictures of those 2" cylinder blocks when they get to be machined, incredible!!
Even though I've "finished" getting kits, still love to see all the stuff you guys do!!
Many thanks!!
Regards,
Tony

Re: october production photos...
will try to provide a photo for each op of the blocks. don't think im starting them just yet though.
been a long time since we made the 2inch blocks from a casting. all the programs are already written, its just a case of setting them up and getting on with it.
may be some photos somewhere on the forum from the last time we made them, i'll be looking for these for reference
will try to keep up the weekly updates, im OK at taking the photos but then i just forget to post them up, but i do have Steve reminding me now. actually if you look at the first photo of the foden wheels you can just see our PC on the desk behind with its new screensaver... CRAIG FORUM
it's not easy to post them whilst at the factory because the slow internet connection really does not like the photo-bucket site that the photos are stored on, it struggles to upload the images but it takes seconds at home. !!!

Not sure what browser your using to upload to photo-bucket but I had a lot of problems with IE, changed it to Firefox and uploads are much more reliable even when the connection was somewhat overloaded with other stuff which would be similar to a slow connection, might be worth a go ?
