Not to be “that guy”, but it sure seems like it’s been a while since the last update

I think Craig has been busy with getting the new CNC mill up to 100% production. So guessing he does not have much time for picture taking.

Re: October, November, December 2019 production photos.
yes sorry. been too busy really. the new machine only cost us a day in production time as we couldnt work as they brought it into the factory, although we were busy helping them.
the main problem is the machine loader has been on holiday for 3 weeks, this means i have to set and load the machines at the same time. with things to get on with something has to give and the first place to save time is taking and posting photos. thats as simple as it gets really.
anyway, some current photos...
showmans rear axle tubes finaly in and done...
im busy trying to get these finished, the castings for the ends of the 6inch foden front axle...
and the new machine is busy. at the moment its doing bu4 and showmans/roadloco front hubs (you can tell its one of the new machines... its clean)...
more hubs. this time foden 4inch front hubs...
bu4 and roller crankshafts just finished...
lyka water gauges...
Bu4 rear spokes...
and the boiler maker has just taken delivery of a large quantity of boiler plates. there are plates for most boilers included and the next week or two will be spent on the weld prep stage...

Need to check which kit you are due next, but we have been through the lists of what people need this month, and what they can have. at this stage we can get a kit out to everyone before Christmas if you haven't already had a kit this month.
Thanks

please remember... personal kit enquiries are best done with a phone call. we dont all have the time to monitor the forum on a regular basis and those that do choose to ignore most of the questions they see.

Re: October, November, December 2019 production photos.
ok, a little review of the last year...
the production up-dates may be thin on the ground at the moment but i can assure you that that is not a reflecton of the effort going on behind the scenes. this year has seen some changes at STW that will go on to have a long lasting effect... hopefully.
there have been sone staff changes, some very successfull and some an out right disaster... but it takes a certain kind of person to fit in at STW and thats not always easy to find. being a VERY small company, anyone who has a background of large companies can find it a struggle.
new machines have arrived. a massive help in getting the work done quickly and accurately. Dean has even been looking into a third new machine !!! it will all come down to the price
and finaly Dean, after the loss of steve he has found it hard at times. without blowing his trumpet too much i have to say he has now found a new enthusiasm for the business and is always improving in every way when it comes to being the "Boss" (singular). the sale of STW is now firmly OFF and hopefully some more improvements will happen next year.

Re: October, November, December 2019 production photos.
and finaly some photos... we have made a massive effort to get everyone a kit this month and i think we have mostly been successful.
4inch Kit 2 parts first. both the standard axle and the showmans/roadloco axle are made from the same casting...
although the wheel collars are very different...
fork retaining collars...
the hole being drilled on the new 4th axis...
2inch front hubs...
100's of pipe nuts for a future lyka kit..
work continues on the lyka wood and bodywork...
brand new boilers are coming on well...
and i still have to get on to the weld prep on the boiler plates ...
4inch foden chassis struts are being formed...
and A LOT of kits have gone out the door over the last few days. hopefully, if you have been good, santa will have something for you

Lyka
Front of the Lyka looks epic!!
So glad you guys have chosen to go for the leather/fake leather and frame design rather than the solid wood! Top effort fair play.
