Beeching report overturned in Sussex

Following the sweeping cuts of the Beeching report which took place during the late noughties as funding was drastically reduced and diverted to the increasing popularity of road steam hailing the decline of the branch line I am pleased to report early investigations into the possibility of the Weald and Downland Light Railway being recomissioned have proved sucessful. After several years of neglect the unseasonably sunny weather experienced this weekend meant the band of volunteer (1 singular ) managed to sucessfully run a limited goods service citing the "need for steam" as the main driving force!! The station had certainly seen better days and the stock was limited to what could be found in the rather untidy shed area but nonetheless a good few runs up and down the line helped to rekindle the passion and the possibility of extending further inot the undergrowth cannot be ruled out.

I think it would be a great loss to the people of sussex if this line was ever lost for good,glad to see it up and running again and look forward to future updates
