Christmas Holiday
Hi All,
Firstly just wanted to let every one know that we will be finishing for Christmas at lunchtime on Friday December 21st and will be shut down for the festive period until Wednesday 2nd January 2013.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank every one of our customers for your continued custom and support during 2012.
We hope that, regardless of the engine you are producing or whether you have now completed, almost finished or just starting out with us your project brings you many many hours of fun and pleasure.
Steve and I consider many of you as 'friends' and not just customers. For those of you who are in the 'customer' bracket lets not be strangers in 2013. We're only here once so if you can make the effort and come to a show we are attending and introduce yourself or alternatively visit the factory to have a look round and see how your bits are made (maybe even purchase something else! lol). We want STW to be something we can ALL be proud of achieving as ONE big family.
Have a fantastic Christmas and prosperous New Year. Here's to 2013 and making many more dreams come true.
All the best
Dean & Steve
Isabel (Office)
Mike and Helen (Packing and Despatch)
Mark, Craig & David (CNC Machining Section)
Ian & Lee (Manual, Fabrication & Boiler Making)
Mark (Apprentice everything)

Watch out! Family members often want subs.
May I wish everyone at Steam Traction World and all other builders a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. And may I extend thanks for the last successful year and may you all have many more.

Re: Christmas Holiday
Thanks STW, I wish you all a deserved Christmas break, you will need it before starting on the traction wagons :afraid:
I have really enjoyed building the road loco and although it is not quite finished right now you will see BLACKBEARD next season and we will partake in liquid refreshment at some point during the year to celebrate.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you all at STW, all those we have met through this adventure and all the other builders on the forum.
Brian, Ann and Danielle Wainwright (not forgetting my nephew, Declan "never ready" Farrimond)

Re: Christmas Holiday
Brian,
What do you mean 'starting the wagons'........the first two kits are almost finished!! While the manual guys have been busy getting Kits 30A and some 30B's plus trying to prototype the Showman's roof, the machine shop lads have been busy completing the 4.5" Foden Kit, starting on the next 6" Foden Kit and have now just about finished both the front and rear wheel kits of the Trailer (Kit 1 & 2).
We will not start deliveries to the vast majority of customers until January though and only pushed hard to get as far as we have because we promised one particular family they could have theirs by Christmas (as it is a present).
Just so the Showman's customers don't think we have forgotten about them, completing the Showman's is still currently the main priorty with 80 metres of twisted brass delivered yesterday.

To all at STW, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
Thanks for getting me from nowt to steam in well under the year !!!
I hope to see lots of the STW family at various events in 2013, I particularly hope that the John O Groats to Lands end run gets off the ground.

Re: Christmas Holiday
What a really nice sentiment, its not many businesses that consider most of their "customers" as friends, they're usually a pain in the arse I for one have met a number of like minded people who I enjoy meeting once or twice a year and don't feel like I am ploughing a lone furrow during the time spent building this and part of the previous engine and am very grateful to have done so. I wish all the very hard working and dedicated staff at STW a very well deserved rest and a happy and peaceful New Year.
I am also very pleased that as I have now recieved and paid for the final kit I can relieve myself of the guilt of cutting and running from the 4" agri build when the MW thing colapsed . Only taken 4 years to get over that!!!!
I am really looking forward to the STW open day 2013 and as the calender will start to be planned shortly this should be a priority to select and fix a date. That other stuff can wait...
Merry Xmas to all Kev (aka Highpressure )

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The good news is the works has not come to an end so we can all live to see another rally season...at least for the next 5124 years.

Re: Christmas Holiday
No we are quite safe.....scientists have been scratching their heads all day trying to work out how they got it wrong......then they realised they had the stone tablet upside-down and it should have read 5105.
