Spray painting rear wheel rims
Anyone got any tips on spraying rear wheel rims? It's difficult to get an even coat when spraying because you need to spray at so many angles to avoid the spokes. I've done one rear wheel so far and the only thing I have found that helps is many coats and flatting back - but even flatting back is a pain with so many spokes to go around! Oh - and an axle to spin the wheel on was a great help!

Re: Spray painting rear wheel rims
Hi Dan
I used a touch up gun hvlp to do my wheels. Mount wheel on broom handle. Light spray everything you see without tilting gun over too far. Rotate 120 degrees and repeat. Builds up nice and even. Also gives time to go bit tacky before working from a different direction or side.

Re: Spray painting rear wheel rims
Hi Lynn
I also used a HVLP touch up gun. I am borrowing it because it's a blooming expensive one! Maybe the difference is that you are using 2 pack? I am using Craftmaster coach enamel with 15% thinners. Maybe less thinners is the way to go?
But I agree that the angle of the spray is a determining factor.
