Ok so while some have chosen their engine names some of us have still to deside. Is there any rules of thumb that should be followed in naming traction engines?

On my short list is Fiametta which as you may know is Latin for "Little fiery one" but not set on it yet.

With so many builds underway for those who have chosen what's your engines called Question Question

We have owned several engines which have all been named Prince. The first one because we like the name and the 4" burrell because the full size which was the closest example of the model was called Prince. So as we have now gone up in stature it has morphed into His Majesty which is the natural progression.

Unless i think of something in the mean time my Showman's will be number 3995 and is going to be called 'Wandering Willie'. I've been reliably informed that this was a single drive engine like Ex-Mayor so with all the Mini-Mayor type engines that will be about, I wanted something a little different.

As I come from the Welsh borders with Offas dyke passing throu the village and many of the engines these are based on having very regal or military names I have provisionally decided on calling my road loco Offa. Being a cheap skate( or is that short arms and deep pockets?) it is also quite short and so should be cheaper to have sign written!

Very merry Christmas to all

For a 'cheap skate' that's a very appropriate name. I think when it's finished you are hoping someone comes along and makes you an 'Offa' you can't refuse! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Don't think i'll give up my day job!!
