Cylinder Block Studs Empty Cylinder Block Studs

Fitting Cylinder Block Studs ok 2 nuts to tighten then up but do I use loctite ? I've heard some people say loctite them in & others say add grease so they can come out at a later date !

Use a thread sealant on then to assist getting a steam tight fit.

Some of the holes are 'through holes' into the steam ways of the cylinder block. These definitely need a thread sealer. I found PTFE tape very successful. Others are 'blind holes' and sealing is pointless. Very useful to be able to remove some of these studs at a later date in order to fix problems with items that attach to the cylinder block. Space for these activities can often be very limited and stud removal makes things a lot easier. eg Exhaust pipe to chimney base when the joint to cylinder block starts to leak.
