Re: Open Day Photo Gallery (staff and customer images)
Had a great day yesterday. It was nice to put faces to the names of others who post on here.
The new factory is just what the company needs to move forwards and it was nice to talk to the staff too.
The evenings entertainment was an interesting surprise and the band was good too so long as you stood way back !!!
I hope today was as fun and eventful.
Nick

Re: Open Day Photo Gallery (staff and customer images)
Had a great day on saturday, my wife and i both enjoyed it and it was good to talk to so many people who have built or are building models. The factory looks good and should be a good showcase for the business. Thanks to Steve and Dean and all his helpers for the event.
Ps If anyone has any photos of the day, especially of our Foden, please post as we forgot to take the camera!!

Re: Open Day Photo Gallery (staff and customer images)
I just want to add my thanks to all who made it a great day, STW Team; other builders and prospective customers; Nigel, Bash and Darren for giving up their time to crew Ex-Mayor and John Saunders for opening up for STW MkII and allowing the protype to be present.
I took some of my part built road loco and probably never stopped talking all day although there are those who say I should. It was great to meet up with the fellow forum contibutors and put faces to names plus other builders who do not participate in this forum nonsense .
And finaly, thanks to Steve and Dean who created this monster that is taking over my life in such a good way. Roll on the next event in 2 years when the DCC engines should be completed - we will definately need some more space for that.
Here are some of our pictures, which all taken by my Nephew as I was to busy socialising
Me explinaing the finer points in the road loco v showmans debate to Brian and Dwain (Ketchup has not been used in the making of my model!)
Guess who brought this super piece of Cornish engineering?
This is the band and they were pretty good if you liked that sort of thing. However, it is not a poor photo, their smoke machine was unable to compete with Ex-Mayor
We could not get a photo of Dean as he did'nt stop pogoing all night

- Thanks to Craig for explainaing the finer points of CNC machinging to my 13 year old nephew who does like engineering and has already said he does not want a job behind a desk all day.
- Thanks to Nigel for allowing him to help clean Ex-Mayor Sunday morning - see you at Pickering.
- Thanks to Sonic45 for explaining his lining method with the compass tool and self adhesive film and trying to convinve me painting is easy once you get going
- Thanks to Brian & Dwain M for providing light relief
- Thanks to all who put up with my ramblings all day and for sharing a beer to those who did (you know who you are). I think I was the last person to walk back to my accomodation for the night
- Special thanks for Nigel and the crew for going "beyond the call of duty" on Saturday evening to ensure we had lighting and a smoke machine for the band Those who were there and witnessed proceedings will know what I mean but I am trying to preserve someones dignity.

Re: Open Day Photo Gallery (staff and customer images)
thank you for the images (please keep them coming) and thank you for the kind comments. i think everyone on the STW team enjoyed the weekend just as much as the customers.
and i would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of everyone at STW, to return that thank you in your direction, without you guys the open day would literally have been half of what it was.
personally it was great to be able to spend a bit more time talking to our customers, but especially to the people who help to make this forum an interesting and worthwhile place to visit.
here's a short clip i put together of Ex-mayor taking on water...

Re: Open Day Photo Gallery (staff and customer images)
Thanks to all for a great day.
After flying in from Dallas at 10:00 am and then sitting in a for two hours to get to STW I was ready to fall asleep by mid-day, so the discussion on the finer points of the road locos was enough to finish me off
Incidentally, when I asked Brian to shared his brown source with me (to spice up my sandwich) he ran back to his caravan with it, so not to share it .
Seriously, nice to meet you all (and the laugh with Brian).
All the very best,
Brian M

Re: Open Day Photo Gallery (staff and customer images)
pleasure to meet you and your brother Brain M, thanks for making the effort to get there
A quick mention on the Commemorative badges.
i have run a few more off today, so if any customers (only those who brought their model along to display), did go away without one please contact the office. they are still on very limited numbers so im relying on you to be honest just like i was all weekend
also done a few in aluminium as well
