Who's attending the Open Day ?

With only a couple of weeks to go I was wondering who was going to the Open Day
I'm going up on the Saturday.
No engine thou as I don't have my boiler yet or i would have taken my rolling chasis up with me.

We are coming up for the weekend and bringing the engine to steam around on. It's the oldest working Modelworks Burrell, ie it was the first one in steam back in Febuary 2006! It's probably going to be the furthest traveled too (about 320 miles) Is anyone coming from further away??? Now there's a challenge!

I'd love to be there. Due to the expense of flying from Australia, and sundry expenses when I get there, which is probably more than the airfare, I will not be there. I trust you all have a good experience. Chris

I will be travelling 361.8 miles, according to the AA Route Planner, with the Foden (in a trailer!!!).

Sorry. I am not able to attend due to health issues at present. Its also only 500 miles away.

Thats a shame Lynn, STW may have given you a prize for the furthest travelled. Also, a boiler collection oportunity has been missed.

I will be there, hopefully for both days, I am looking forward to it, especially to see how many models turn up finished and in progress.

Well, as Isobel knows, I've been off for some considerable time due to my place of work going up like a roman candle. As far as I am aware, I WILL have LilyJack there for both days subject to me not being re-allocated somewhere else in Europe, I'll not be staying over though as I'm willing to travel great distances to get back to me bed ( bout 30 miles hehehe ) but I will be there Saturday and leave my engine in the very capable hands of Steve and Dean.
Me engine is now all nice n shiny clean again after bein cacked in burnt oil n god knows what so I'll look forward to seeing anyone else that turns up.

just to remind everyone... the industrial estate we are on is just about deserted over the weekend. there will be loads of opportunity's for people to steam up and drive !!!

No engine I am afraid. I have only built the front and back and still painting (also, missing the bit in the middle), but will happily act as a passenger on a road run if anybody needs one .

I'll be there on the Saturday. Demonstrating bacon rolls and smokebox cooking as well as boiling water for tea making. If you want a bacon roll, bring your own supplies!

Just dug out the TomTom to plan the route down to Daventry & it shows the quickest route to be 466 miles & should take a tad under 8hours!! ................ yah right!!
Anyone comming from further away?

I'm only doing 360 miles from Dunfermline. I'll be driving down during the day on Friday so look out for a Motorhome towing a box trailer, (going A74, M6, M1 etc) if you are traveliing on the Friday. See you there if not en route.

Yep hope to roar up there on Sunday from darkest Suffolk, looking forward to seeing 4 inch single Burrells and Lyka's as they are projects to keep me occupied at present!
