STW Open Day/Weekend 2013

Hi All,

Only planting the seed currently, however...........

If we were to do another Open Day/Weekend sometine during May 2013 would any one be interested?

It would give customers the opportunity to see the new machine in action plus all those who have recently completed their engines (Foden 4.5) or those due to complete their engines later this year the chance to bring it to the factory to show us and steam it with others who have similar. It would be a bit like the one we had previously but hopefully with more engines as people would have a lot more notice.

Any one have any preference on a particular weekend or know of any weekend it would clash with something else? With the current British weather May seems to be about the warmest month.

Crystal would love to come. She would need to come the day before, leave the day after and have some place to stay at night with her trailer.

Sounds like a good idea to me, May would be a good time also a couple of bank holidays that month.....so more days to choose from. Pick a date and i'll come along, would be nice to meet people from some of the other builds.

Yes May is probably the best month not to clash with most other do's somewhere in the country, and would be a good start to the season, I would certainly be up for it. Try to avoid the weekend for the Bill Targett Rally at Alresford, normally middle of the month, The Cuckoo Spring fair in Laughton is usually the last Bank Hol.

If I can manage to keep HM in steam and actually functioning without stuff breaking I might manage a couple of 100 yrds up and down the road.

Although in your own words would you really want Highpressure, Rickster and Lynnr all in the same place at the same time!!!

Yes would be very interested to meet some of the people behind the names here on the forum.

if im home count me in...tho i would be "engineless" unless stw are going to pay the ticket over....

I'm up for it - not sure the engine will be finished!

I would hope to be able to get there. Does the 6" Foden schedule have any heavy bits likely to be available for collection by then?

Yes I'd be up for coming up, although Fiamette will not be finished. (I think that name may have to go)

Is this planned to be the big DCC get together too?? I wil be up for that. Hopefully we will have some finished traction wagons too?

NTET weekend is also on our calendar too, I will be on the road work course if we go.

Can we have So77 again, great band really enjoyed them last year? Hobgoblin on again too??

What full size engine(s) will you have this time? Maybe a Foden wagon would be appropriate.

Can I have a go on the Chain Tractor this time?

Steve, maybe your Stanley steam car will be in steam? That would be something to behold.

I'd love to come down for that....suggest the first bank holiday weekend in May, probably about the 2nd and 3rd or something?
