"it'll be like sitting on a razor blade"
actually a road bike is very comfortable when set up properly. had first ride today and its very nice, rides real well, gears shift is very good and its the perfect size for me.
26miles in 1h 26m, average speed 18.1mph and top speed 38mph

Re: Ha Ha... (or not so bloody Ha Ha now)
and of course i have to thank dean and Steve as well, especially dean for doing all the admin
i got it on the cycle to work scheme where the government will allow you to buy a bike and make the payments from your wages before tax and national insurance. so you get a cheaper bike as long as you use it to cycle to work. you can only do it though your employer so without their help i wouldn't have been able to afford it

Re: Ha Ha... (or not so bloody Ha Ha now)
the weekend is nearly here... time for another ride
of course, if its raining the boardman will stay in the garage and i'll be back on the "cheaper" one
but not the commute bike, have enough of this heavy thing all week...
maybe the cheap "leave anywhere and not worry if it gets nicked" bike ????...
er, probably best not to use this one ...

Just aswell you like to cycle then Dean might be right! my mate got done for speeding, he was doing 86 in a 60 and got banned for 6 months!!!! but it seems to vairy as i read in the paper people doing 88/89 and only getting penalty points so hopfully lucks on your side.

Re: Ha Ha... (or not so bloody Ha Ha now)
I'd rather be banned than fined, like you said i ride to work anyway and its far less stressful
