4” scc burrell starting valve
4” SCC Burrell starting valve
Going through a few things after completing the engine I have got to the starting valve that doesn’t do anything. Have stripped it back down, there is no pressure coming out of the HP cylinder hole where the valve mounts.
So is the stating valve a dummy and doesn’t actually do anything or do I have a fault in the cylinder casting or am I missing something?
The LP is connected through to the LP cylinder.
All ideas most welcome

Re: 4” scc burrell starting valve
If you take the safety valve off you will see the hole which feeds the start button.
Through one of the studs on the valve chest you will be able to check the passage way is clear
Just finished mine and the start button works great.
Have pictures somewhere if you want to drop me a pm with your number or email address and I can send them to you....

Re: 4” scc burrell starting valve
Update: all fixed STW hadn’t drilled the cross drilling that supples steam to the starter valve
