Re: Flywheel and key 2" burrell
You'll need to file the key so that it goes in further. I filed mine so that it fitted to about 10mm short of the flywheel. Then tapped it so it sits around 5mm short of flywheel. Another smallmmod that I did, was to drill 2 small indents into the shaft where the grubscrews sit. This gives a more secure fitting on the shaft in my view. Ìt aĺso meant that I could keep taking off a replacing the flywheel without the key being forced in, while needing to turn the crank for setting eccentrics etc.

That sounds brilliant! Did you have any problems when running on air? I must admit, that I'm totally in the dark with steam, I'm lucky that I have connected up with avfather and son who own a full size and a couple of 3 inch engines who are going to pop around and help and advise. Are you going to the Doncaster steam and modellers show on 12th -14th May

Do you have a large compressor? We are getting to the Premier inn on Friday 12th, going to the show on the Saturday, coming back home on the Sunday 14th.

Its a 24 litre tank would be better with a 50 litre it would keep it going for longer
