extra collars on valve rod ??
I have noticed several of the completed engines have an extra collar added to the valve rod between the cylinder block and the weight bracket. This looks to cover up the extra thread which was a possible error when made.
Can someone confirm this as been the case as I have a pair of the original valve rods and the thread is very long. Having now attached the rest of the linkage it is clear I also need these extra collars…
Were they made by STW and sent out?
Thank you…
The Mistress is now taking shape again. Looking forward to seeing some of you out on the circuit this year. I will be on the Fowler again as the Mistress will not be in attendance for another season.

Re: extra collars on valve rod ??
Hi
If I remember correctly on 1st batch. The collars that go into the bushes were too short and allowed the locking nut to hit the bush. So the extra collars were added to stop this.

Ok, makes sense now.
I will wait till I have all the linkage attached and fixed to the crank before I question if i also need them.
cheers Lynn.
