Mechanical lubricator
Hi.
While test steaming yesterday spotted a bit of an issue. While notched back the valve rod was not moving enough to actually trip the cam over on the mechanical oil pump.
I am thinking of moving the bolt closer down the oiler lever to give a bigger radial throw to hopefully make it cam over. Will this work or will I over oil during nil cutoff?

Or dont notch back, I havent cut any notches yet and never used them on the other engine.

Hi Kev
Tempting but the water economy when at the last rally and first time with notches was impressively better.
7 hours of steaming with 2 engine loads of water and one waterbowser.

In my third notch there is still enough rotation of the lubricator shaft so the oil will be pushed through, just not as much. You wont get oil injected on every piston stroke anyway.
