road loco length

Could someone measure the total length of their road loco please

Starting to think about the space I will need for transportation when finished

Hi Kev,

The advertising blurb for the engine gives length @ 73" and width @ 29".

I think I read somewhere it's was slightly bigger than advertised?

The engines are just over 33" wide. I think the length is fairly accurate but Steve did comment a few moons ago that the width advertised was incorrect.

Measured in the garage 2 mins ago.... length from back of tender extension to front of front wheel is 79" and overall wheel to wheel is closer to 34" to be sure of clearance.

I knew the width on the product page was incorrect and so wanted an actual measurement from someone with the engine in front of them.

The showmans I think is longer than the road loco so the stated length might have been for that version so was unsure.

wow that's a difference, good job we have the room, I will have to measure the SM to see the difference in length from the marketing leaflet.

its good to know the real world dimensions, you could quite easily think you have the space when in reality you dont.
