Steam and Polish Empty Polishing

Post  Tony King Wed 18 Aug 2010, 6:11 pm

Hiya Lynn'
I'm in the north not far from you, also building the Showmans Engine.
I'm just finishing the assembly of the belly tank & you talking about polishing....... just you wait to get started on the, beautifully made, solid brass segments of the "star's" ....................... They look fantistic!!
I think this particular kit has been the most demanding kit so far, however, what amazing sight when all assembled. STW have excelled themselves with the DCC kits.

Steam and Polish Empty The biulders in the north!!

Hallo Lynn,
Have you heard of "Glenbuchat"? It's over the otherside of the Lecht ski area to Strathdon then turn left into the middle of no where. I moved up here in 2000. Lovely wild country side!!
Funny you talking about your painting skills, I also completely rebuilt my Defender 90, new galvanised chassis right up to the new paint job!!
I tend to build the engines up first then take to bits & paint. I've been playing around with different paints & have decided to go with 2 pack paints for same reasons as you!!
I have just finished assembling kit 17 & am now awaiting the first of the rear wheels.......... Can't wait!!!

Hi Tony

Wonderful area. I moved to Inverness originally back in 86. Then moved about the country eventually coming back in 2006.
Here to stay! Quality of life is now more important than pounds shillings and pence.
