2" Burrell Kit 22
Just received Kit 22 & checked contents. General;ly OK but my brake wheel handle seems to be a different thread from the brake wheel. Anyone else got this problem.

Re: 2" Burrell Kit 22
Hi,
I have just checked the stock in packing and although the thread is a tight fit the handle did fit in the hand wheel. I did find that I had to grip the handle gently with a pair of pliers but it did wind on without much effort.

Thanks for your call. Tried what you suggested but no way was it going to have it. Grip on pliers was spoilng handle & there is no way it will screw full in. A replacement in due course appreciated.

Re: 2" Burrell Kit 22
Hi everone,
just 1 small problem I've spotted and spoken to Steve about this,on the gear change bracket (BU22201) there are 3 holes drilled and tapped for fitting to the rear spectacle plate and bearing housing, but only 1 hole in the spectacle plate. You will have to drill another hole in the spectacle plate for the 3rd fixing.I know this sounds like a pain, but it will have to be done to stop an fretting in the future,as the instuctions say, this is a high impact area so the more fixings, the better.I'm going to try this with the spectacle plate in place and then hope I don't have to remove the pressure gauge.
On a lghter note, whilst on the phone with Steve,I mentioned the subject of steaming our engines, and the response I got was go ahead but be careful and start lightly.I suppose make sure your boiler is filled with water, the tender has water and the pump is working. So I'm really tempted to give it a go at the weekend. What do you guys 'n' girls think?
Please let me know your thoughts on this, time to return to GH5.

Thanks for replacement brake wheel & handle assembled. Cracking service. Do you want the old ones returning?

Re. 2" Burrell Kit 22
Hi Everyone,
Checked my kit last night and seem to have the same problem as Agricola. Tried to start my brake handle in the thread on the brake wheel and couldn't get it to wind on. Tried using pliers (and a bit of packing to protect the handle) - result? one chewed up handle with stripped threads!
Will have to phone STW and ask for a replacement.
Regards,
Kwacker
