Re: Fusible plug
Its well worth moving to a BSPT i.e taper thread plug.
I changed mine to BSPT and its made fitting and removal a doddle, you dont even have to do it up very tight and no worrys about leaks.

How do you convert a BSP thread to BSPT please?
Is it simply run a new tap through or is there more to it?
I may consider this whilst my engine is on blocks.
Cheers.

Re: Fusible plug
I'm afraid I left that to my boiler inspector.
It "appeared" thats all that was done but cant say exactly if thats all they did as they had a number of taps.
All I know is it now takes the BSPT plugs nicely and I no longer have to hang on the wrench to get it out with it making horrible squeaking noises. No leaks and fits securely. As with anything boiler related speak to your boiler inspector before doing anything
