Gear Grease
Hi all - hope everyone is staying safe - I have taken to isolating myself in the workshop - great progress is being made!
Quick question - What is everyone using to lubricate gears? I'm assuming grease, but what type - seems to be hundreds to choose from!

Re: Gear Grease
Hi
Do NOT use grease. It will attract dust and create a grinding paste. Just lub with oil often.

Re: Gear Grease
Seconded, no grease just bearing oil or universal steam oil if you dont want to carry two lots about.

Re: Gear Grease
The only parts that I've greased are the wheel hubs and the differential, everything else is a 'total loss' oil system which effectively is self cleaning (if messy)
