Does anyone know the weight of engine
Can anyone help. I'm tying to get a folding table to have engine on while in steam. Does anyone know the weight of engine with water and coal in it.
I am intending to steam the engine at shows and need to get a folding tables capable of taking the weight, anyone got any ideas of where to get a table?
Cheers Charlie

Re: Does anyone know the weight of engine
The STW website indicates its 65Kg, I suspect thats dry weight so add a few more Kg for water etc.
I've seen small engines like yours steamed on a B&D workmates successfully, the delux bench takes 250kg and folds down quite small.

Re: Does anyone know the weight of engine
That is what I was thinking too. Been looking at workmate. Think that might be the way to go. I have been making a ramp to get the engine in the car from my work bench. I have a winch etc, just need to test it out once the weather gets better. It probably won't be till next year I'll be out and about at rallies.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Does anyone know the weight of engine
The only thing I've heard is its worth either changing the tops or making your own top to cover the B&D one as many are just high density chip board which doesnt like getting wet, which it inevitably will do with the use of the injector and general weep'age. In honesty the top wont be wide enough anyway.

Re: Does anyone know the weight of engine
I had thought about that. I had thought of using some plywood that I have to make the top bigger. I have made a top before and screwed a 2x2 block under a piece of wood to clamp in the jaws of the workmate. I can put some form of container to catch any water etc.
I already have a workmate, I'll need to check the model to see if its the heavy duty one.

That does look a good table, Steve, is the top big enough for the engine as it is?
