DCC Boilers Empty DCC Boilers

Post  Ian Wed 28 Sep 2016, 10:23 am

For those of you eagerly awaiting their DCC boiler with bated breath, you can now breath.
The inner firebox plates arrived back from the benders yesterday, the showmans barrel tube arrived today (we already have the road loco barrel and now we have everything for both).
Today we will cut up the showmans barrel ready for machining, then assembly and welding starts,  road loco will be the first off the grid as those barrels are already machined.
Whilst we are manufacturing road loco boilers the showmans barrels will be machined.
so guestimates are road loco and possibly some showmans in October and the balance in November.

Boiler inspector is booked in for the afternoon of the November 16th takes a day or two after that to empty them, remove all the test plugs, pack the accessory kits and weld ID plates on.

Well I get all the luck been waiting for my boiler for months I thought I was getting it on Friday gone I find out today the carriers Knights of old have lost it Like you could misplace a boiler
On a pallet I talked to them today to find out were it was after a bit of time and keep being transferred Somebody said it hadn't been picked up.Now that is a joke its all on there tracking system
When it was picked up when it was to be delivered and my name and address funny that seeing that they had not picked it up Pitty there tracking system can't find my boiler

I think you should be ok they can't loose another I have lost two days pay Friday and today just in case it turned up today This is working out to be a expensive boiler
What is funny I can make and weld boilers myself with a set of drawings I have been a plater and fully coded welder for 45 years If I had made it I sure would not have misplaced it
Like the courier have

Hi Guys,

Isabel has been constantly chasing Knights of Old since Friday with very little joy.

She has even called them twice this morning and has been promised two call backs with none so far!!

As well as 'losing' Carl's boiler which was despatched Thursday and supposed to be delivered to him Friday they also didn't turn up for a pre-booked collection on Friday (Marks). Eventually they did show up last night (very late) and although committed to an Artic or 18 tonner lorry ended up sending a transit......that already contained two pallets and had a further three to add from us!! Everything was taken though.

Not sure what is going on with them currently as we've never has an issue previously until around a month ago with a different boiler delivery.

Rest assured Isabel is doing everything she can at this end. Apologies for the frustration but please remember that this is outside our control as the boilers have left the factory and until they let us know what is going on there is very little we can do at this end other than chase and hassle them.

Dean

This is all fine except I don't have a boiler looks like somebody should get a pipe cut ready to start fabricating another just in case it never terns up But then
again it might just turn up in somebody's back pocket Like it must be hard to loose something that size Surely the driver who picked it up must have some idea
We're he unloaded

Two of my kits sat "lost" in the depot in Inverness for 4 weeks over the Christmas period one year. Then were miraculous found and delivered on the 15th of January.

Great News.
Your engine will really take shape now. Enjoy...

How something that bulky and heavy can go missing is beyond me.
Luckily we all rely on a dedicated small team at STW that work hard to deliver a fabulous product and often go that extra yard to do so.
Its the other firms that STW rely on that often let them down and muddy their name.

This delivery firm is definitely one of them.
