I have been experimenting with brush painting and have finally found the right combination of brushes, (Daler-Rowney not the cheapest but very good and a good range of sizes from lining to 1 1/2 flat).

I have used Purdy and Richards brushes. Both give good results. Don't try to push the paint out. Let the brush flow.

Thanks to all that has replied. I appreciate your help and advice. I have, since posting my question, yesterday, read the thread from Craftmaster Paints. They also recommend Purdy brushes, " Purdy Monarch Elite " brushes.
I did take a look on Amazon, yesterday, and ordered a set of 5 brushes, recommends by Craftmasters, and now some of you.
I do still want to get a half inch brush, but they dont do one in the range from Purdy.
I will look at the other suggesting made by a couple of you that replied.

Thanks to all for your help.
