Isle of Wight Steam Show 22nd-25th Aug

Anyone here going to this one ?

I shall be going but not sure which day but then it's only a 8 minuet drive for me.   

Must have classic FM in the car then!!!

Toying with Saturday, have friends over there in the military section so going over to really check it out to see if its an event to do considering the cost just to get there for us mainlanders.

Well I nipped over on Sat to see what it was all about, its actually quite small, although they do pack in a hell of a lot into a fairly small area, from full size to military stuff and classic cars and bikes along with a good stocked real ale tent   

The arena area felt very small when they started racing full size stuff up and down it, you get a full size at full chat bearing down on you in a ring that only felt as though it was 10yrds long and you really began to wonder if it was gong to flatten the commentary box totally    

Nice atmosphere if a bit cramped I thought, especially for the full size boys, saw a couple of STW fodens
