Now is the time to decide how much work you are going to put into the metal finishing. Have a look at some of the earlier 'owners photos' threads for methods.

Good luck

Mike

Kits of note for weight.

Cylinder block
Horn plates
Each rear wheel

All spring to mind.

Hi Lynn,   Thanks for the warnings of the heavy bits to come.

Was looking at all your photos of Crystal's build last night. Absolutely fantastic.    Wow.... well, well done.

Front wheels 32kg
Cylinder. Not sure not got mine yet.
Horn plates 37kg
Rear wheels 52kg each

BOILER 140kg.

I've been keeping record of the weights and numbers it parts and fasteners here fie the showmans which is of interest to me. http://www.tashsefer.net/kits.html

Anyway yes the wheels are probably one of the worst for finishing.  Draw filing the spokes took me weeks. Flap wheel would be quicker, good luck though with the build however much finishing you decide to do.  Looking forward to your updates, always good to hear from fellow builders.

Don't forget to start a new thread in the builders section and start with the opening of the first box. Shocked
